The Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) oversees Utah’s public substance abuse and mental health system. In compliance with Utah law, DSAMH contracts directly with local county governments (local substance abuse and local mental health authorities) to provide prevention and treatment services. Under Utah law, the local substance abuse and mental health authorities are responsible for providing services to their residents.
